Socks

Made from Born on the Farm sock yarn.

SocksKid Mohair — the finest, buttery soft fiber of the Angora Goat — the only ingredient in our Born on the Farm sock yarn. We use hand-selected fleeces from our award winning goats to spin into 100% kid mohair yarn. It is then knit into socks, unrivaled in warmth and comfort. All done right here on the farm, and with solar power.

It takes about eight ounces of raw fleece (fiber sheared from the goat) to produce one pair of socks. The fiber is hand-sorted, and only the best fleeces are selected. It is then washed and processed into a fine knitting yarn, 2500 yards per pound double ply.

We then knit the yarn into one of a variety of three sock styles: our original Born on the Farm — a mid-weight sock with an all-over rib pattern; our Mountain Goat sock, with a cushion or double-knit terry foot; and our newest addition, the Farmer's Friend, a heavy weight hiking, work, or boot sock to keep your feet comfortable and warm regardless of the weather.

SocksBecause they are made with high quality mohair, these socks are durable, yet soft, and have minimal shrinkage. They can be laundered with a regular wash load. We recommend line drying. Due to the labor involved, production of these socks is limited.
