Washing:
Fleeces must be well skirted. There will be an additional charge of $25.00 per fleece for skirting. Heavily contaminated fleeces/fiber will be returned at your expense.
Most Wool Breeds: $5.00 per pound
Merino / Greasy Wools: $6.00 per pound
Mohair and other Exotics: $6.00 per pound
NOTE: SOME GREASY WOOLS WILL REQUIRE MORE THAN ONE WASH.
SUBSEQUENT WASHES ARE $3.00 PER POUND
Picking / Opening:
$4.00 per pound
Carding - Roving or Batts
Requires that fiber be first washed and picked/opened **; add this to above cost/s. If blending fiber for roving, two passes through the card may vbe required to ensure an even blend. If so $10.00 per pound will be charged for EACH pass through the card. Charge is based on INCOMING weight of fiber to be processed.

add $1.00 per pound for each additional color
**Most fine wools ( such as Merino and Cormo ) are not able to be put through the fiber opener or picker. These wools must be opened by hand before carding. The price for opening by hand is $10.00 per pound.

Add to Carding fee.

Spinning Services:
The cost for spinning yarn is based upon the finished weight and includes all processing fees — except washing raw fiber. Some blends will require two passes through the card. A separarte fee of $10.00 per pound will be charged for double carding.

Plying and Skeining:
Our charges are based on singles length. Please bear in mind that
the weight of plyed yarn is double the weight of singles per yard; the weight of
three-ply is three times the weight, and so on. For example: two cones of 1,000
yard-per-pound singles, plyed together, yields 2 pounds of 500 yard-per-pound yarn.
All Yarn will be finished in random weight cones or 8-ounce skeins. Please call 518-537-4487 to discuss alternate skein specs or cone requirements and custom pricing.
UP TO 2,500 YARDS: $5.00 per pound
OVER 2,500 YARDS: $10.00 per pound
OVER 5,000 YARDS: $15.00 per pound
Charges are based on machine time required for the plying, the finer the yarn
the longer the plying time.
Skeining Fees
8 ounce skeins - no additional charge
4 ounce skeins - $5.00 per pound
2 ounce skeins - $10.00 per pound
1 ounce skeins - $20.00 per pound
Felting:
We are able to process your fiber into felt sheets. Pricing is based upon the number of pounds processed, and does not include washing, picking, or carding the raw fiber.
Felt Sheets Measure Approximately: 30" x 40"
The First pound felted (i.e., one pound of felt): $25.00
With a second pound added (i.e., two pounds of felt): $35.00
With a third pound added (i.e., three pounds of felt): $45.00
